What's New for the 2009-10 School Year

As one school year draws to an end, another begins!  The 2009-10 school year brings with it many changes.

Track Changes at Three Elementary Schools

Effective the 2009-10 school year, Citrus, Poplar, and Virginia Primrose Elementary Schools will change from their current Multi-Track, Year-Round schedule to the Single-Track, Year-Round Schedule. These changes were made to improve the coordination between elementary schools schedules and to increase the number of sites that operate on the same school year calendar.

New Faces in New Places

Principal Victor Uribe will be leaving Kaiser High School to begin planning the opening of FUSD’s fifth high school, Jurupa Hills High School. Although the school will not open until August 2010, there is much work to be done to make sure everything is in place for the first day of school.

Principal Terry Abernathy will be leaving Tokay Elementary School to take over the helm at Kaiser High School.

Tammy Stringer has been promoted from her position as Assistant Principal at Truman Middle School to Principal of Tokay Elementary School.

Eva Fritsch will take over as the new Principal of West Randall Elementary School. She will be leaving her position as Coordinator of Elementary Instruction to fill the vacancy left by the departure of Albert Martin.

Lorraine Perez will fill the vacancy left due to the departure of Larry Elwell, Principal of Date Elementary School. Lorraine is being promoted from her position as Assistant Principal at Poplar Elementary School.
