AP Scholars at Fohi Recognized
Twenty-two students at
Fontana High School have
earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on
Advanced Placement Exams.
At Fohi, two students, Christopher Carney and
Samantha Phou, qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average
grade of 4 or higher on a five-point scale on all AP Exams taken, and grades of
4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.
Six students, Christopher Carney, Gustavo Chavez,
Gilberto Gamboa, isaac Gomez, Samantha Phou, and Brenda Ramirez, qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction
Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and
grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
Dylan Smith
qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at
least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of
these exams.
Fifteen students qualified for the AP Scholar Award
by completing three or more AP Exams with grades of 3 or higher. The AP
Scholars are Ricardo Calzada, Jeremiah Castaneda,
Alma Chavez, Shelby Cramton, Sergio Gabriel, Mario Giron, Yilan Liu, Karis
Martinez, Joseph Montes, Jonathan Ochoa, Martha Palafox, luis Roman, Mahfoud
Saddi, Karena Smoll, and Liliana Torres.
Of this year's award recipients at Fontana High School, six are juniors:
Jeremiah Castaneda, Alma Chavez, Yilan Liu, Karis Martinez, Martha Palafox, and
Liliana Torres. These students have at least one more year in which to
complete college-level work and possibly earn a higher-level AP Scholar Award.
