Nation's Flags at Half-Staff in Honor of Victims of the Tragedy at Fort Hood, Texas

As a mark of respect for the service members and families affected by the Fort Hood tragedy, President Barack Obama has issued a proclamation calling for the flag of the United States to be flown at half-staff at the White House and all public buildings and grounds until sunset on Tuesday, November 10, 2009.

As a public building, the Fontana Unified School District's schools and district office will display both the United States and California flags at half-staff during the time specified. Flag protocol indicates that each day the flag be raised to its peak then respectfully lowered to half-staff.  At the end of the day, the flag is again to be hoisted to its peak before being lowered.
