Lorraine Perez
Before coming to FUSD in 2008 to be the Assistant Principal at Poplar
Elementary School, Ms. Perez taught 4th-6th grade in Baldwin Park
Unified School District for five years. During that time, she also
served as Site Administrator and Principal for three summer sessions. In
2007, she was recognized and honored by her peers as Baldwin Park
Unified School District “2007 Teacher of the Year.”
Ms. Perez is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton and
is currently in a Doctoral program at the University of Southern
California. In addition, she is currently on the Board of Directors for
Duarte Education Foundation, Alumni Board of Directors for Cal State
University, Fullerton, and a Member of the Parks and Recreation
Commission in Duarte. She recently completed her service as Chair of the
Economic Development Commission in Duarte.
Ms. Perez said that she is really excited about her new position and
can’t wait to meet the Date Elementary School community. “Mr. Elwell has
established strong ties with the community and it is important to me
that we continue to foster and expand these relationships,” said Ms.
Perez.

later a 5/6 combo class for a year. She came to FUSD eight years ago to

grade elective, and 7th grade Pre-Algebra. For the last four years, Ms.
Stringer has been an Assistant Principal at Truman Middle School.
A Cal State San Bernardino graduate, Ms. Stringer said she is very
excited to be joining the outstanding Tokay Tiger Team. “Tokay is an
exceptional school with a dedicated staff and many supportive parents
and community members. I am looking forward to working with everyone to
meet the academic needs of our students,” said Ms. Stringer.

“We are really pleased to promote Ms. Stringer and Ms. Perez to their new

will no doubt bring that same leadership and commitment to their new ones. We
have great expectations for them both.”
