Ted J. Porter Elementary School's Dedication Ceremony will be held on May 17, 2006 at 3:00 p.m.  FUSD Superintendent, Dr. Charles D. Milligan, FUSD Board Members, district and county administration, local government representatives are planned to participate in the Dedication Ceremony.

The permanent Ted J. Porter Elementary School opened in July 2006.  The school is located on Locust Avenue, between Arrow and Foothill Boulevards, and was designed to accommodate 480 students on a single-track calendar.  Porter was designed by WLC Architects and the building contractor was Woodcliff Corporation.

1927	Married Doris Lake and moved to Fontana
1943	Elected to Fontana Elementary School Board of Education
1956	Retired from Globe Milling Company (became Pillsbury) after 30 years
1956	Became a widower after Doris, his wife of 29 years, passes away Began a second career in real estate
1958	Elected to Fontana City Council
1961	Married Peg Wade
1962	Re-elected to Fontana City Council
1964-67	Appointed Mayor of the City of Fontana by Fontana City Council
1968-70	Re-appointed Mayor
1970-74	Elected Mayor of Fontana in first mayoral election
1994	FUSD opened Ted. J. Porter Alternative Program
10/1994	Ted J. Porter died at the age of 97
2/2002	Groundbreaking held for Ted J. Porter Elementary "Instant" School
7/2002	The Ted J. Porter Alternative Program re-located to Citrus High School and changed its name to Citrus ATE (Alternative To Expulsion)
2/2003	Dedication Ceremony held for Ted J. Porter Elementary "Instant" School
7/2003	FUSD opened Ted. J. Porter Elementary "Instant" School
7/2005	Permanent Ted J. Porter Elementary School opened
5/17/2006	Dedication Ceremony scheduled for permanent Ted J. Porter Elementary School
